Amhara regional state media, AMMA, reported today that there was tension in the city of Debre Tabor, in Southern Gonder.
It happened today around 5 p.m. local time after inmates tired to mug prison guards in an attempt to escape prison, Amhara Mass Media Agency reported.
Commander Menge Kebede who is is head of Debre Tabor prison, revealed the prison break out attempt was foiled and tension is under control after police reinforcement was sent in. The commander did not mention any further detail.
