Court deliberations began today at a Federal courthouse in the city of Dirdhaba in Shiniile province in Somali Galbeed (Ogaden) for culprits hailing from the Oromo ethnic group. The defendants are charged with a slew of xenophobic crimes targeting the indigenous Somali population, which include burning a mother and her four children alive in there home last August 2018.
According to officials within the local administration in Diridhaba that spoke to Halgan Media on anonymity, a total of 27 Somalis are prepared to testify in court on behalf of the mother and four children slain in Dirdhaba.
The 5th of August 2018 was a traumatic day for the indigenous Somali population in Dirdhaba. 23 Somalis where killed in the onslaught by Oromo paramilitaries and allied militias, while xenophobic mobs of Oromo settlers burned a Somali mother and her four children alive in there home during broad daylight. There only crime was being Somali. A crime that shocked and angered the Global Somali community.
