Oridin Bedri has been elected as the new president of the Harar Regional State in Ethiopia according to state media.
Oridin Bedri replaces his predecessor, Murad Abdullahi whose been president since 2005. The inhabitants of the Harar Regional State are said to number around a quarter million people, that hail from a wide variety of ethnic groups.
The new regime presiding over Ethiopia has removed many regional state heads within the ethnic regional states (Kiliil’s). The removal of Murad Abdullahi comes a few weeks after the Presidential of the Gambella regional state in Ethiopia was removed from his post.
