Two Ethiopian soldiers, including a commander where killed today in the capital Addis Ababa as a result of a brazen gun battle, which erupted on the grounds of the Central Statistic Agency.
What provoked the clashes between the units within Ethiopia’s security apparatus remains unclear. The troops that where involved in the clashes where reportedly stationed at the CSA compound as part of the compounds security detail according to Reuters.
Ethiopia’s Federal Government has not commented on this latest development. Skirmishes and other similar incidents have been widely reported within contingents of Ethiopia’s military and security apparatus in recent months. The OPDO led EPRDF Junta is yet to clamp down, let along get a grip on the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the country.
