Several Somalis where gunned down overnight outside the town of Dheeka Sufti as Ethiopian troops indiscriminately opened fire on unarmed civilians according to confirmed reports coming out of the area.

The border town of Dheeka Sufti in Libaan province was the scene of bloodshed last night as heavily armed Oromo militias launched a cross border raid last night in a bid to rob livestock from the pastoralists. The local Somali pastoralists where able to fend off the Oromo Militants for the moment but suddenly came under fire by Ethiopian troops stationed in the area. Following the ceasing of  gunfire, a total of seven Somalis where laying in a pool of blood.

The town of Dheeka Sufti and area others on the Somali-Oromo border region remain volatile as Oromo paramilitary forces and militias continue to besiege Somali inhabited towns and villages in the border region. Ethiopian troops regularly side with there fellow ethnic kinsmen (The Oromo’s) against Somalis and have taken up arms against Somalis in the border region on multiple occasions, as seen last night outside the town of Dheeka Sufti.

The Somali Regional State based in Jigjiga led by the pseudo intellect Mustafa Omar (Cagjar) is yet to comment on these latest developments, let alone take action.

We will keep you updated with the latest developments and updates from the region.
