Tubsan Relief Organization (TRO) distributed much needed supplies to IDP’s languishing in squalid conditions just outside the Somali border town of Tuliguuled in Fafaan province.

Humanitarians from TRO arrived in the village of Daraami just outside Tuliguuleed, which is home to a large number of IDP’s and many more impoverished residents. The team from Tubsan Relief Organizastion (TRO) distributed boxes of food, which included rice and dates for the holy month of Ramadan .

The Somali border town of Tuliguuleed situated just 25 kilometres north of the capital of Jigjiga has been the scene of some of the worst atrocities imaginable. Tuliguuleed and a dozen nearby villages in its periphery have been besieged by Oromo paramilitary forces and allied militias in recent years.

Entire towns and villages have been raised to the ground, with countless killed and displaced. This region has produced some of the largest number of IDP’s in the Ogaden and Ethiopia at large.

However this area has been entirely ignored and its destitute population forced to languish in despair due to the criminal negligence of authorities in Jigjiga.

Tubsan Relief Organizastion (TRO) remains the only NGO on the ground distributing much needed supplies to IDP’s in and around the besieged Somali border town of Tuliguuleed.
