The Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) has stated that it’s imprisoned members have not yet appeared before a court, and remain under arbitrary detention.

Tolera Adeba, the spokesperson for the rebel movement (OLF) revealed the senior members have not been granted a chance to be appear at trial despite being in state custody for more than two weeks.

The statement made by Tolera Adeba was during an interview with the Amharic branch of VOA news. However on a similar note, the security chief of the Oromo regional state, Jibril Mohamed vehemently dismissed the OLF allegations.

Jibril reiterated the claims of Ethiopia’s ruling junta and claimed “all those who are arrested have either appeared in court or their investigation is started, or an investigation file is ongoing”.

In the past few weeks, thousands have been arrested  and held under arbitrary detention as a result of the nation wide revolt that swept the country.

The detainess include senior opposition figures and dissidents from Ethiopia’s Oromo community, which have been at the helm of Anto government protests over the past several years.
