Oromo paramilitary forces and allied militias launched a cross border raid targeting the farming village of Golmaayo, situated outside the Somali border town of Tuliguuleed in Fafaan province.

Local contacts reveal armed ethnic Oromo gunmen began besieging the farm village of Golmaayo mid afternoon today. The cross border raid came as countless families where tending to there crops and livestock.

Dozens of armed Oromo paramilitaries and allied militia men began indiscriminately opening fire as they swept down and began besieging the farming village of Golmaayo, forcing large segments of the inhabitants scattering.

The lucky ones fled to the nearby Somali border town of Tuliguuleed, while others sought refuge in the nearby woods, in an attempt to escape the wrath of the marauding Oromo gunmen, local residents reveal.

Once the hail of bullets ceased, the Oromo paramilitary forces and allied militia-men withdrew from the farming village of Golmaayo and where spotted heading in the direction of the nearby Oromo occupied Somali border town of Jinacsani.

Shortly afterwards, the body of a one individual was found on a dirt road within the vicinity of Golmaayo village. Local contacts that spoke with Halgan Media on condition of anonymity have identified the victim as Ahmed Muhumed Tukaale.

As of tonight many of the villagers from Golmaayo have not returned home and are still scattered in nearby Tuliguuleed and its wooded areas.

The Somali border town of Tuliguuleed, situated 30 kilometers away from the capital Jigjiga has been besieged by fanatical Oromo paramilitaries and allied militias for a number of years, while both local and federal authorities continue to turn a blind eye to the horrific atrocities unfolding.
