Protests erupted in eastern Ogaden, as large scale demonstrations swept the district of Bookh with hundreds in the streets.
Local residents in the district of Bookh that spoke with Halgan Media reveal the protests that spread across the district where aimed at the local administration.
Demonstrators vented there frustration over what they called negligence by local authorities over the lack of basic services accessible to the constituents in the district.
On a similar note, many of the locals where angered over the power sharing structure in the district between the clans that inhabit Bookh.
Many sub clans in the area accuse the local authorities of marginalizing the respective communities they hail from.
The Halgan Media service desk reached out to local authorities in the Bookh district for comment but are yet to receive a response.
