Local contacts based in Sitti province reveal a massive movement of Afar Paramilitary forces currently underway outside the village of Coble in Sitti province.
Correspondents have informed the Halgan Media service desk that this build up began after Militants from the neighboring Afar regional state crossed into Sitti province in Somali Galbeed (Ogaden). The Afar Militants and there allied paramilitary factions set up positions outside the village of Coble shortly afterwards.
A group of Somali pastoralists have advanced to the outskirts of the village in a bid to deter and even counter the pending incursion and subsequent cross border raid. The village of Coble is of strategic importance and lies on the road between the besieged Somali border towns of Cadayti and Candhufo.
Numerous Somali inhabited villages that are adjacent to the Afar regional state have been relentlessly besieged over the past several months. The Criminal regime based in the Somali capital Jigjiga is yet to address the plight of fellow Somalis in Sitti province, as countless lives continue to be lost with many more displaced.
We will keep you updated with the latest developments from the region.
