Local contacts based in the town of Yucub in Doolo province reveal Liyuu Police paramilitaries arrested an unidentified male in the town on the 28th of September.

According to eyewitnesses the individual was driving a vehicle through the town of Yucub, than stopped to load gas. Upon arriving to load gas, the same individual requested another vehicle he could use to travel with his personal belongings to the nearby village of Qamuda.

Liyuu Police paramilitaries in the vicinity approached the individual shortly after over hearing the conversation. The paramilitaries than began questioning the individual on sight in front of dozens of bystanders according to local contacts that informed the Halgan Media service desk.

The unidentified individual was reluctant to answer the questions according to eyewitnesses. The Liyuu Police paramilitaries than detained the man on the side of the road and began searching his vehicle.

Upon searching the vehicle, the paramilitaries seized an AK-47 assault rifle and two magazine clips. Following the seizure, the unidentified individual was subsequently transferred to a Liyuu Police military outpost in the town of Yucub for further questioning.

Reliable sources within the security apparatus in the town of Yucub have informed Halgan Media that the identity of the individual still remains unknown. The individual was rigorously questioned while under custody and gave security forces contradicting statements on multiple occasions regarding his identity and where he hailed from.

In the past few months there has been a spike in contraband being smuggled across the colonial border from Somalia into Doolo province. Guns, bullets and even alcohol have been flooding the region.

The administration overseeing Doolo province based in the provincial capital of Wardheer is yet to address these disturbing developments. Likewise the governing body of the Somali regional state led by President Mustafa Omar (Cagjar) is to tackle this issue.
