Unidentified military aircraft carried out a series of strikes in Somalia targeting the Al Shabaab controlled town of Ceelcade in Gedo province.

The strikes reportedly occurred on Monday night according to Radio Gedo, a local radio station based in Somalia’s Gedo province.

The broadcast by Radio Gedo revealed several missiles where fired on an Al Shabaab military outpost within the town of Ceelcade.

The number of casualties from the strikes are not clear nor is it know who actually carried out these strikes.

However the Kenyan Defense Force (KDF) routinely carries out air raids in Gedo province, while US AFRICOM conducts drone strikes on a routine basis all across Somalia.

Neither the KDF or AFRICOM have addressed the recent barrage of strikes targeting the Al Shabaab controlled town of Ceelcade.
