Authorities seized a large amount off assault rifles stashed in a vehicle over the weekend. The incident seizure occurred in the town of Sebeta, situated in the volatile Oromo region.
According to the Ethiopian state owned FANA broadcasting corporation, security forces nabbed a total of 40 Kalashnikov (AK-47) assault ruffles hidden in a vehicle traveling with Addis Ababa license plates in the town of Sebeta.
Its not clear where the arms where headed to, nor was it mentioned by state media where the arms originated from. This is the third mass seizure of weapons in Ethiopia within the past few weeks
Following the civilian uprising towards the state that began in 2016, lawlessness and conflict has plagued the country non stop. This has led to a massive amount of armaments and weapons flooding into the country with devastating consequences.
