Confirmed reports reaching the Halgan Media service desk reveal a series of cross border raids targeting Somali border towns occured in Sitti province.

Local contacts reveal dozens of heavily armed militiamen poured into the Somali border town of Masulu and went on a rampage. They gunmen began indiscriminately opening fire as the entered the town during the midst of the cross border raid.

Eyewitnesses confirm one person was struck by the hail of bullets. That victim has been identified as Muuse Cali Farah and is currently being treated at a makeshift medical clinic in the nearby Somali border town of Danlaheylay.

A similar incident occurred in the rural village of Malkada Bodhka, situated on the outskirts of the Somali border town of Cadayti. Local contacts that spoke with Halgan Media on condition of anonymity reveal dozens of armed Afar militants besieged the village early this morning.

A fierce skirmish ensued as a result of the cross border raid, which pitted the Somali pastoralists against heavily armed militiamen from the neighboring Afar regional state. Eyewitnesses confirm one Somali pastoralist was killed in the clashes. The victim has been identified as Casowe Cabe Waberi.

Following the cease of gunfire, the Afar militants looted livestock and ransacked numerous homes in the village. Many residents fled to the nearby Somali border town of Cadayti, while others fled into nearby forest to seek refuge.
