Clashes erupted mid afternoon outside the Somali border town of Danlahelay as a result of a brazen cross border raid. Local residents that reached out to the Halgan Media service desk reveal militias from the neighboring Afar regional state launched an assault targeting the town.
The Afar militias where confronted by local Somali pastoralists on the outskirts of the town during the midst of the cross border raid, local residents comfirm. A gun battle ensued between both sides. The Afar militias where repelled by the Somali pastoralists before they could reach Danlahelay.
Two Somalis where wounded in the hail of bullets. The victims suffered non life sustaining injuries and are expected to survive. Local residents that spoke with Halgan Media on condition of anonymity have been able to obtain the names of both survivors.
