Armed militias from the neighboring Afar regional state launched a cross border raid terrorizing Somali pastoralists in Sitti province in the Ogaden.
Local residents that spoke with Halgan Media reveal the attack occurred in the rural border town of Masalu, which is situated outside Cadayti district.
The heavily armed militiamen from the Afar regional state swooped down on the rural border town and began besieging the Somalis.
One person was killed in the violent cross border raid. Eyewitnesses reveal the victim was tending to his livestock, mainly consisting of goats before coming under fire.
Local residents have identified the victim as Xussen Waberi. A local pastoralist that hailed from the town of Masalu.
