A massive blast targeted a hotel overnight in Ethiopia’s volatile Wollega province according to state media. One person was killed, while three others where wounded.
The blast targeted an upscale hotel identified as Fact Hotel. According to state media an unknown assailant hurled an explosive device, thought to be a grenade into the lobby of the hotel. The subsequent explosion sparked a massive blast. Local security forces at the hotel responded by opening fire on crowds of fleeing guests.
The Ethiopian federal government nor the Oromo Regional administration released any further information regarding the bomb attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
