Confirmed reports received from the Ogaden reveal a vehicle laden with explosives was seized by security forces in the city of Wardheer in Doolo province.

Local contacts in the city have informed the Halgan Media service desk the seizure occurred mid afternoon on saturday. According to sources the explosives laden vehicle was in the city for a few days, than taken to a local garage.

Per sources the suspects took the vehicle to the garage on the pretext of a tire change. The employees at the garage shop discovered the explosives while working on the vehicle.

Dynamite, unexploded ordinances and even remote detonators disguised as cell phones where all discovered in the vehicle.

Following the discovery of the devices, the workers in the garage notified the Liyuu Police paramilitaries stationed nearby. Upon arrival and the subsequent search of the explosive material that followed, the Liyuu Police paramilitaries contacted the Ethiopian military contingents deployed in the area who arrived at the garage shop.

After the discovery of the explosive material, four individuals where detained and the vehicle impounded. The suspects where transferred to the regional capital Jigjiga according to sources who didn’t want to be named due to the seriousness of the situation.

The identities of the suspects or there motives has not been determined as of the movement. Terrosism has been non existent in the Ogaden region and the recent discovery of explosive material has shocked many.

The Somali regional state based in the capital Jigjiga has not addressed the discovery yet. The local authorities in Doolo province have not commented on the situation either.
