Skirmishes erupted overnight outside the Somali border town of Tuliguuleed in Fafaan province, as a result of a cross border raid by Oromo Militia’s targeting the nearby rural farming village of Daraami.

Local correspondents based in the area reveal heavily armed Oromo militias approached the village of Daraami in the direction of Jinicsani, which is an Oromo occupied Somali border town, situated 30 kilometers away. The ensuing clashes that took place in the village of Daraami sparked a firefight, in which the Somali villagers where able to repel the attack according to local contacts.

The invading Oromo Militants withdrew from the Somali village of Daraami, after the clashes. No casualties reported on either side. The Somali villagers where able to regroup and continue on following the clashes.

Last night’s cross border raid targeting the village of Daraami, was the second cross border attack on the same village within a week. The village of Daraami was also besieged by fanatical right wing Oromo paramilitaries on the 13th of May.
