Confirmed reports received from the Ogaden reveal heavily armed Oromo paramilitary forces backed by the Ethiopian security apparatus launched a cross border raid targeting the Somali border town of Baki in Shiniile province.
According to local contacts Oromo militia fighters and paramilitary forces began indiscriminately opening fire on civilians as they pillaged the town. The indigenous Somali inhabitants where forced to take cover in anything they could find to avoid the onslaught.
Dozens of homes and shops where burned down and looted. Entire livelihoods destroyed in a matter of minutes. Survivors of the attack have informed Halgan Media that the Oromo militias where wearing military attire belonging to the neighboring Oromo Regional State. The OPDO Junta which rules over the Oromo Regional State and Federal government of Ethiopia led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed are directly complicit in war crimes as they give fanatical Oromo paramilitaries a green light to reign terror on the Somali inhabited Ogaden with impunity.
Over the past 18 months a well orchestrated ethnic cleansing campaign has been waged against Somalis residing on the Ogaden-Oromo border. Ethiopian backed Oromo militias and paramilitary forces continue to launch cross border raids and wipe out entire towns and villages in the border region, just caused there inhabited by ethnic Somalis.
The situation has spiraled out of control since Abiy Ahmed became Prime Minister back in April, as extrajudicial killings and mass murders against Somalis continues to intensify. Halgan Media has been able to obtain the name of the victim that was mercilessly gunned down today in the Somali border town of Biki, which is listed below.
