A prominent Somali musician better known by his stage name Khadar Keeyow was arrested at Bole International airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Confirmed reports reveal he was singled out and detained by security personnel on the airport grounds.
Abdi Dhaanto, another well known Somali artist was alongside Khadar Keeyow when the incident occurred and saw it all unfold. Khadar Keeyow reportedly unboarded a plane that traveled from Hargeysa, Somalia.
Upon arriving at the airport he was subsequently detained and arrested without reasonable cause. The federal government of Ethiopia has still not given an explanation on to why a Foreign national is being held under arbitrary detention on there soil.
The Halgan Media service desk reached out to the Somali embassy in Addis Ababa but they could not be reached for comment.
