A 26 year old Somali male was gunned down during the run up to the New Year holiday in Toronto, Canada. The incident occurred during the early morning hours on sunday December 29th, in Toronto’s notorious Scarborough neighborhood.

The victim has been identified by local media reports as Koshin Yusuf, a local Toronto native of Somali decent. The Toronto based Global News reported that police officers and paramedics were called to an apartment building on McCowan Road, north of Eglinton Avenue East, at around 2:50 a.m. with reports of gunshots being fired.

According to a statement released Sunday afternoon by Toronto police, the victim was approached by two suspects outside the building before he was shot multiple times. The victim collapsed on the scene before bleeding out, and subcumming to his wounds.

Police later identified the victim as Koshin Yusuf. The victims family could not be found for comment. No suspects have been identified nor have any motives for the murder been released.
