At least two individuals where shot dead during a raid on a stash house being used for the illicit distribution of Alcohol in the city of Galkacyo in central Somalia.

The raid carried out by the security forces of Somalia’s autonomous Puntland region took place in the Garsoor neighborhood of Galkacyo according to local media reports.

Security forces came under intense fire upon entering the residency from smugglers. The security forces immediately returned fire leaving two smugglers dead following a hail of bullets.

Following the raid on the residency, dozens of bottles of liquor and equipment used to make the band substance (alcohol) was confiscated from the home.

Alcohol is strictly prohibited in Somalia and authorities throughout the country have made it a priority to clamp down on the distribution of this filth (Alcohol) in a conservative Muslim nation such as Somalia.
