The fascist right wing Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) seized the 45-anniversary celebration as an opportunity to showcase the extent of militarization in there region.

The former ruling Junta held a series of parades showcasing there military strength. Many suspect this latest stunt to be in defiance of Ethiopia’s federal government. Tension has been simmering between both camps, following the ousting of the TPLF in early 2018.

The Tigray region remains a no go zone for Ethiopia’s federal government and armed forces. The region remains secluded from the rest of Ethiopia and under tight control of the once powerful Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF).

This region remains a thorn in the side of the foot for the pseudo prime minister Abiy Ahmed. The TPLF have refused to join the Prime Minister’s coalition party dubbed EPP in run up to national elections later this year. The TPLF have also vowed to take decisive action against the federal government if Ethiopia’s federal system of governance is threatened.

Ethiopa’s government has not publicly addressed the rogue Tigray regional state. Yet as election day inches closer, the Ethiopian government will more than likely attempt to confront the TPLF. Weather that conformation leads to violence is yet to be seen but one things for certain and the TPLF will definitely not go down without a fight.

We will keep you updated with the latest developments from the region.
