A cargo plane belonging to Ethiopia’s Air Force made a surprise landing at the airstrip in the city of Beledweyne in central Somalia.
Sources reveal the plane landed at 9:20am. Access in and out of the airstrip was closed for nearly two hours prior to the landing.
Upon landing in Beledweyne, it’s been revealed large containers of weapons, ammunition and other logistical equipment where unloaded from the aircraft.
Local contacts in the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation for the autonomous Hirshabelle regional state have informed Halgan Media the supplies from the plane where destined to Ethiopian military contingents stationed in various parts of Hiiraan province.
Sources reveal the bulk of these supplies will be delivered to Ethiopian troops stationed in the towns of Maxaas and Halgan, in central Somalia’s Hiiraan province. The vast majority of these troops are operating outside the pseudo AMISOM mandate, therefore are illegally in the country, which many view as an out right occupation.
The Halgan Media service desk has obtained an exclusive photo of the aircraft shortly after it landed, which is pictured below.
This latest development comes on the heels of a massive Ethiopian troop movement in both southern and central Somalia in recent months.
Tens of thousands of Ethiopian military contingents have flooded into the country in mass. Many of them setting bases and outposts throughout the country.
The arrival of the Ethiopian Air Force in the city of Beledweyne today, just comes a day after Ethiopian troops attempted to shoot down a plane carrying humanitarian supplies in Somalia’s Bay province.
Ethiopia’s military presence in Somalia is reviled by the vast majority of the civilian population. This is a result of historical animosity between both nations and the rampant war crimes and atrocities carried out by Ethiopian troops occupying southern Somalia under the guise of the US led war on terror
However Ethiopia’s recent troop movements in Somalia differ from the past. The geopolitics in the region have been changing over the past several years with control of Somalia being at the core of it.
Ethiopia which is a loyal Western proxy has a history of doing Washington’s dirty work in Somalia and with global powers vying for access to strategic Somali seaports and offshore oil blocks, Ethiopia is (once again) working as a Mercenary for hire in Somalia to advance Western interest and of course Abyssinia’s ambition of annexing there war torn and stateless neighbor (Somalia).
