Unknown aircraft hovering low over towns in the periphery of the Diinsoor district in Somalia’s Bay province are confirmed to have taken place overnight.
Per sources, multiple aircraft flew down in a low manner hovering over the following towns of Kanaax and Qod-Qod, situated on the cusp of the Diinsoor district.
The aircraft, which many of the locals believe to be helicopters due to the loud noise from what many presume are propellers remained out of sight to residents due to the lights on the aircraft being dimmed as they hovered over both towns.
Its not clear at the moment why the aircraft was hovering so low over these towns, especially so late at night.
The US led coalition forces never confirm nor deny reconnaissance missions in Somalia, at least not publicly, which often leaves more questions than answers.
The recent aerial activity over the towns of Kanaax and Qod-Qod has left residents on edge and in a state of fear.
The vast majority of territory in south and central Somalia remains under Al Shabaab control and therefore these areas face the brunt of the US led bombing campaign.
