Mohamed Omar Osman, the former chairman of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) returned to the city of Jigjiga today, after spending time abroad in the United Kingdom.

The ex chairman was welcomed by large crowds of supporters and ONLF members at the Wil-Wal international airport in the Ogaden capital of Jigjiga.

ONLF spokesperson Caddani Hirmoge and the current ONLF chairman Abdirahman Sheikh Mahdi where in attendance along with several other prominent figures from the resistance movement.

Upon arriving at the airport Mohamed Omar Osman addressed the public which was aired online with the Ogaden News Agency (ONA) and stated he made the decision to return home and to take up private matters.

Mohamed Omar Osman was a former admiral for the Somali navy prior to the collapse of the central government in 1991 and later became the chairman of the ONLF between 1998 to 2019.
