In-fighting between Ethiopian army contingents erupted in the town of Halgan in the Hiiraan region of central Somalia.

Local contacts based in the Ethiopian occupied town of Halgan reveal contingents within the ENDF attempted to disarm ethnic ethnic Tigray soldiers within there ranks, sparking a fierce firefight.

The botched attempt in disarming the ethnic Tigray officers, led to an intense shootout on the grounds of the Ethiopian military base, which left two Ethiopian soldiers dead according to local contacts that spoke with Halgan Media on condition of anonymity.

Over the past couple weeks a purge targeting ethnic Tigray soldiers serving in the ENDF contingents deployed in Somalia has been underway, with the latest purge taking place in the town of Halgan.

Despite the turmoil in Ethiopia, the Ethiopian government still has around 20,000 troops occupying neighboring Somalia under the guise of America’s war on terror with the brunt of these  troops deployed in the following provinces of Hiiraan, Bay, Gedo, Bakool and Galgaduud.

The vast majority of these troops operate outside the pseudo UN backed AU mission to Somalia and routinely commit horrific atrocities that are tantamount to war crimes under international law.
