The Kenyan Defense Force (KDF) have carried out a series of airstrikes overnight in the province of Gedo in southern Somalia.

Local media reports reveal the brunt of the indiscriminate aerial bombardment targeted the rural towns Iilkooley, Buusaar and Garsaal.

The densely civilian populated Al-Shabaab controlled district of Ceel-Cadde was also bombed by Kenyan fighter jets.

Scores of livestock perished as a result of the aerial assault. The civilian casualties are unknown at the moment.

The Kenyan military has been waging an indiscriminate aerial bombing campaign of Somalia, since the ill-fated Kenyan invasion of Somalia took place in 2011.

Over the past 11 years the Kenyan Defense Force (KDF) has been implicated in numerous war crimes and wanton massacres of civilians in Somalia under the pretext of fighting America’s Global War on Terror.
