Liyuu Police paramilitaries based in the city of Dhagaxbuur have reportedly come across a illicit weapons overnight. Confirmed reports received from the Ogaden reveal 5 suspects identified as foreign nationals where arrested with the contraband.
According to local residents a vehicle with 5 males described to be of Oromo decent where arrested after they where caught with weapons in there vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, the Liyuu Police paramilitaries came across 5 pistols and an Ak-47 assault rifle.
Following the seizure last night, the culprits where detained in a detention center overnight before being transferred to capital Jigjiga this morning for further questioning. It’s not clear what motives the culprits had in mind.
Many suspect these individuals came with a sinister plan to carry out attacks or violence. The local administration overseeing the city of Dhagaxbuur is yet to publicly comment on this latest development.
