The regional intelligence director overseeing operations in Somalia’s Bari province, Abdihakim Sa’eed was found dead this morning in the coastal city of Bosaaso.
The veteran intelligence chief spent a number of years working in the ranks of the PISA, which is the local intelligence wing of Somalia’s autonomous Puntland regional state.
Abdihakim was tasked with countering the threats posed to Somalia’s northeast Bari province, with a particular focus on counter terrorism and disrupting the illicit yet lucrative arms trade.
The exact circumstances surrounding his sudden death remains unknown as of now. There’s a possibility that Abdihakim’s death could be caused by natural causes, however foul play can’t be ruled out either.
The autonomous Puntland regional state of Somalia and there often secretive intelligence wing (PISA) are yet to release a statement regarding the tragic death of there regional intelligence director overseeing Bari province.
