Mass arrests, arbitrary detention and torture are being reported out of the Somali border town of Cundhufo in Shiniile province according to residents.
Local contacts reveal Ethiopian troops illegally detained at least 50 civilians and subsequently tortured them while in custody. The detainees range in all ages including women, children and the elderly.
The reason for the mass arrests remains unknown. Eyewitness have informed Halgan Media that Ethiopian troops began rounding up civilians tonight and subsequently transferred the victims to a nearby Army base.
While in custody many of the victims suffered torture and abuse at the hands of the occupying Ethiopian Army. Most victims where released after the incident.
