Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) released a series of revelations in a statement online via there Twitter handle.

NISA revealed the Amir (leader) of the Al Aqaeda affiliated militant group Al Shabaab, Abu Ubayda has temporary relinquished leadership to his deputy Abukar Aden due to deteriorating health conditions facing Abu Ubayda.

The Somali Intel agency (NISA) also claimed a vicious powerful struggle was unfolding within Al Shabaab between the Amir (leader), Abu Ubayda and Mahad Karate, the Amniyat (intelligence) chief of Al Shabaab.

The power struggle between the senior leadership was sparked following a dispute over who to name as the new Amir (leader) of the organization due to Abu Ubayda’s deteriorating health according to NISA.

These allegations could not be independently confirmed. The Militant group Al Shabaab has not addressed these damaging allegations spewed by Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).

The alleged infighting and power struggle plaguing Al Shabaab comes just a few days after a senior Al Shabaab field commander, Abdulkadir Kommandos was killed in a US drone strike targeting the town of Sakkow in the Middle Jubba province of Somalia.
