Confirmed reports received from the Ogaden reveal Oromo militias launched a cross border raid this afternoon targeting the border town of Salaxaad in Nogob province, subsequently killing five unarmed civilians including a local Sheikh (Religious Scholar).

Halgan Media correspondents based in Nogob province reveal heavily armed Oromo paramilitary militia forces traveling in multiple convoys approached the outskirts of the town and entered the rural town on foot. Upon entering the town of Salaxaad, the Oromo paramilitary forces began indiscriminately opening fire on anything that moved.

When the smoke cleared a total a five people where lying dead in a pool of blood, including a religious scholar by the name of Sheekh Ahmed Abdi Isse. Over the past 18 months ethnic Oromo paramilitary forces and allied militias have been unleashing massacres against the Somali inhabitants on the Ogaden-Oromo border which have skyrocketed since Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed seized power.

Somalis in the Ogaden have been victim to a well orchestrated ethnic cleansing campaign at the hands of fanatical right wing Oromo paramilitaries with full backing of the Abiy Ahmed regime based in Addis Ababa.

The world remains unaware of the circumstances of the 8 million Somalis in the occupied Ogaden as a result of the 11 year long blockade and embargo on Ogaden which began in 2007, that subsequently bans foreign media & aid agencies from accessing the region.
