Intense clashes erupted this evening when Oromo militias once again launched a brazen cross border raid targeting multiple villages surrounding the border town of Tuliguuleed in Ogaden.

Local residents have directly informed Halgan Media that the villages of Godane, Dharcaseeye and Malowleh where simultaneously attacked by heavily armed Oromo paramilitary forces. The Somali villagers inhabiting the villages surrounding the border town of Tuliguuleed where able to repel the attack with small arms fire, although one Somali man by the name of Bashir Abdillahi Ahmed was wounded.

Ironically it was only 48 hours ago when Ethiopian troops flooded several villages surrounding the border town of Tuliguuleed demanding the Somalis lay down there arms and hand them over to federal forces, according to local residents that spoke to Halgan Media who’ve chosen to remain anonymous for safety concerns.

Attempting to disarm Somalis by using the state apparatus (Ethiopian Military), while allied Oromo militia factions regularly launch cross border raids indiscriminately targeting Somali inhabited towns and villages on the Ogaden-Oromo border region is a sign of a well orchestrated ethnic cleansing campaign.

We will keep you updated with the latest developments and updates from the region.
