Two men where killed in a massive blast from a land mine in Somalia’s Bay province, while traveling on the road linking the districts of Bardaale and Awdiniile sources reveal.
Local contacts confirm both individuals where riding on an auto rickshaw, commonly referred to as a Bajaaj when they struck a land mind hidden on the dirt road. The subsequent blast from the land mind through the auto rickshaw killing both men instantly.

The authorities overseeing Somalia’s autonomous Southwest regional state are yet to comment on this latest incident. Countless civilians are killed and maimed annually in Somalia by land minds and other unexploded ordances as a result of three decades of endless conflict.
