Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Opens New Consulates

Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that it will open consular offices in four of Ethiopia’s regional states.

According to the pro regime media outlet, Fana Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) the Oromo, Tigray, Amhara and Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s region are the four regions that will have consular offices.

Five other regional states have been left out for obvious reasons. Ironically the four main regional states that will be hosting the consulates for MFA are the same ethnic groups that dominate the EPRDF junta.

The Federal govt led by Abiy Ahmed is yet to explain why a selected few where chosen to host Foreign Affairs consulates. Many suspect the decision to sideline other regional states is aligned with the current regimes intentions of following in the footsteps of there predecessor, the notorious and fascist right wing TPLF Junta.
