Unknown culprits riding a motorbike hurled a hand Grenade at a group of Tax collection officers conjoured together at a cattle market in the Wanlaweyn district of Somalia’s volatile Lower Shabelle province, eyewitnesses reveal.

Local contacts at the scene that spoke with Halgan Media on condition of anonymity reveal two mean riding on a motor threw the hand Grenade at the group of Tax collection officers as they where driving through the bustling cattle market.

Once the hand grenade was thrown, it was followed by a load explosion and the suspected militants riding on the motorbike sped away and escaped the scene according to eyewitnesses.

Two civilians where confirmed wounded in the bomb blast and luckily suffered light injuries and are currently being treated at a makeshift medical clinic in Wanlaweyn according to sources familiar with the matter.

No group has claimed responsibility for the brazen attack as of yet. The Militant group Al Shabaab routinely carry out shootings and bomb attacks targeting Tax collection officers that are collecting taxes on behalf of the Western backed government based in Mogadishu.

On a similar note, a vehicle transporting vegetables to the district of Afgooye in the Lower Shabelle province of Somalia struck a roadside bomb while traveling near the village of Balan at the Number 50 junction.

The driver of the vehicle, whose identity remains unknown at the moment was said to have died instantly from the blast, while the vehicle carrying the vegetables being subsequently engulfed in flames according to local media reports.

The security of Somalia has been drastically deteriorating in recent weeks leading to thcountless civilians and soldiers particularly the capital Mogadishu and the nearby Lower Shabelle province, which is infested with Al Shabaab Militants.
