A man was shot dead overnight near the Somali border town of Salaxaad in Erer province. Halgan Media correspondents based in the Ogaden reveal the killing occurred just outside Salaxaad in a nearby wooded area.
Its not clear what prompted the shooting. However tension between clans that inhabit the district of Salaxaad has been mounting in recent weeks.
Killings of this nature do occur from time to time throughout the region as many of the local communities dispute over the ownership of territory (towns/districts). Grazing grounds and other related issues.
The Halgan Media Service desk reached out to authorities in Salaxaad, who revealed they’d be investigating the matter. However authorities refused to provide further details regarding the investigation to our correspondents in Salaxaad.
