Confirmed reports reaching the Halgan Media service desk reveal suspected US drones carried out a series of strikes targeting the town of Jilib in the middle Jubba province of Somalia. Sources that spoke with Halgan Media on condition of anonymity say the strikes occured around 15:30 today.

Sources went further by revealing one civilian was instantly killed in the drone strike identified as 22 year old Mohamed Moalim. This is the second confirmed US drone strike targeting Jilib within the past 48 hours alone.

The town of Jilib remains a strong hold and the de facto capital of the militant group Al Shabaab. Over the years the area has come under massive US aerial bombardment as a result of the US led war on terror being waged in the country.

AFRICOM which oversees US military operations on the continent of Africa, in particular US drone operations is yet to comment on these latest developments. The Halgan Media service desk will provide more information as the story continues to break.
